Hello, interested parties!
It has been far too long since I updated this website, a confession that is no less painful for being close to universal among comedians. Oh the rush of excitement when the website is first designed! Oh, the things we’ll do, the fun we’ll have! The posts we’ll post, the feeds we’ll embed, the dates we’ll sell.
And then, the long slow draining away of enthusiasm, until the website is left like puff the magic dragon, gathering dust at the back of another virtual marketing chest.
Well, now I’m back, and even though experience suggests otherwise, it is my true avowed intent, to pop in from time to time and keep the place looking dusted and trim.
Plenty to look forward to since I was last here. My radio series, Simon Evans Goes to Market, has been recommissioned, which is very exciting, and the next series of comedeconomics will appear on Radio Four in 2015. This time we are going to be looking at the markets in things with hooks in them. Alcohol, Tobacco, Coffee and Sugar. An opportunity to examine human nature at its most venal and pathetic, and hopefully make a few quid from its dismal helplessness.
In the meantime, the tour of Leashed continues and in September I will be recording a live DVD for the first time, a summation of pretty much everything I’ve done as a comic, to be recorded at the Theatre Royal, Brighton.
I am going to go and prune the tour dates now but I will be back with regular posts here soon. I will. I will. I will.
